Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

6 c. peeled, cored and sliced apples about 2-3 lbs. (Cortland, Idared, Paula Red) 1/2 t. cinnamon or more to taste 1/2 c. sugar plus 2 T. 5 T. butter 3/4 c. oats 1/2 c. walnuts or pecans


Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°. Toss fruit with half the cinnamon and 2 T. sugar and spread it in a lightly buttered 8” square or 9” round baking pan. Combine the remaining cinnamon, sugar in a food processor with the butter, oats and nuts. Pulse a few times until ingredients are combined (not pureed). To mix by hand, soften butter slightly, toss together dry ingredients and work butter in with fingertips or a fork. Spread topping over apples and bake about 40 minutes until topping is tender.
